I provide instruction and support to school aged students who have difficulty with reading and writing. Through the use of research based reading strategies, I will help students to become successful readers. Armed with new strategies and self-confidence, students will begin to enjoy reading and to show steady progress. 

I use a personalized approach based on the individual needs of each student, drawing on their strengths.  The primary emphasis is to engage students through authentic, meaningful reading and writing experiences.

After an initial consultation and assessment, a literacy profile is created and an instructional program is designed.  All lessons are intended so that readers experience a high degree of success. Instructional goals are revisited and modified constantly to monitor progress and to plan and adjust for appropriate instruction.

Reading instruction focuses on the areas of phonological awareness, fluency, word analysis, vocabulary and comprehension. 

Instruction is provided while reading stories and informational texts where these skills are applied.
